Survivor: Johnny Fairplay Is A Dad!

Isn’t it funny that reality dating shows don’t produce long lasting relationships but reality stars manage to hook up and make one work? That is the case for Survivor star Johnny Fairplay and former America ’s Next Top Model contender, Michelle Deighton. PageSix.com reports that the reality couple has not only established a stable relationship, but has also welcomed a baby girl this morning at 9:34am at Danville Regional Medical Center . Named Piper, the newborn weighed 6lb 7oz at arrival. Both mother and child are reportedly doing very well.

I am so happy, this is crazy! I am a dad, I am about to go and smoke a cigar! Fairplay, who first appeared on Survivor: Pearl Islands and will soon return on Survivor: Micronesia , was quoted as he was talking about being a new father.

The new season of Survivor, also tagged as Fans vs. Favorites, premieres on February 7. In a recent Survivor press event, People magazine had a word with Fairplay, who enthusiastically talked about this new development in his life. He said that it has definitely impacted his gameplay in Micronesia .

It definitely changes the way you go into the game, Fairplay said. The last time I went in I was playing for me. Now I’m playing for my little girl.

Looking back, fans could still remember the devious schemes of Fairplay, who previously lied about a dead grandmother just to get ahead of the game. However, with his new attitude and outlook in life, will he be the same cunning contender?

Motivation wise I’ve got to do the best thing for my little girl, but at the same time I’m still the same scumbag as I was before, he said in response to that speculation.

The proud parents Fairplay and Deighton have been dating for more than two years, and met while filming another show, Camp Reality , in 2005. On the last New Year’s Eve, the two got engaged just before midnight and are now planning a wedding to be set this coming summer.

As for parenting, Deighton seems to be confident that she will be doing a great job. She said, I think parenthood will be easy. I come from a large family, so I grew up babysitting. In the beginning, it will be a big adjustment, but after that, it’ll be fine.

Fans just hope that little Piper would take more after her family oriented mother than her troublemaker father. Time has yet to tell, and we will all have to watch and see a little Fairplay blossom.
